Faculty host Ronald Feldman and a panel of judges have announced the winners of the 2015 Berkshire Symphony Student Soloist Competition. In a three hour program open to the public, listeners were spoiled for choice as 15 of some of Williams finest student musicians took to the stage to present solo works to a grateful audience.

Harpist Anna DeLoi ’18 (left) presented Debussy’s Danse Sacree et Danse Profane; pianist Robin Park ’17 (middle) performed Prokofiev’s Concerto Nr. 3; and flutist Tiffany Sun ’18 (right) played Bach’s Concerto in D. The three will appear with the Berkshire Symphony in the fourth and final regular season concert on Friday, April 24, in Chapin Hall, a concert which is always a highlight of the concert season.

The competition is open to Williams College students who have completed required instrumental or vocal studies and are enrolled in qualifying courses. The soloists present one movement for soloist and orchestra from a concerto, a single-movement work, a concert or operatic aria, or song cycle.
