
Received an M.F.A. from the California Institute of the Arts and a Ph.D. from Princeton University. I've taught music theory and
composition at Duke University and the University of North Carolina,Chapel Hill. Since 1994 I've been a member of the music theory faculty at Louisiana State University, and have published on the music of 19th and 20th century composers in Music Theory Spectrum, Perspectives of New Music, 19th Century Music, the Journal of Musicology, and elsewhere. I'm married to Kathryn Reynolds (Williams '83) and have two children.
