Concert and Chamber Choirs

Williams College has long had a fine tradition of music performance in its choral ensembles. Director Bradley Wells, who enters his seventh year with the college this fall, has helped that tradition flourish. The choral program has much to offer students interested in singing, with a number of performances throughout the year, a wide range of repertoire, recordings and tours. The Department is now proud to sponsor three ensembles: the Concert and Chamber Choirs are directed by Mr. Wells and are composed entirely of students; the newly formed Northern Berkshire Chorale, which is open to faculty, staff, students, and townspeople, will be directed by Judy Reichert.

The season usually includes one major concert on campus each semester. Additionally, the group regularly participates in the annual Little Three Choral Festival in conjunction with Wesleyan and Amherst Colleges, and performs around the community at a variety of events at the Clark Art Museum, the Williams College Museum of Art, the annual Lessons and Carols service in Thompson Chapel, and others.

Auditions for prospective members are held twice a year, once in early fall during the first week of classes, and again during the first week of the spring semester. Please sign up for a time outside of room 34 in the Bernhard Music Center. Auditions are designed to be painless and supportive.
