Andrés Carrizo '04, composer
Andrés Carrizo was born in Panama City, Panama, in 1982.  The son of a professional Jazz arranger and musician, Andrés was exposed to music and performance at an early age.  While a student at Williams College, Andrés began studying composition in 2001, under the tutelage of Ileana Perez-Velazquez and David Kechley.  After graduating with a B.A. in History and Music (with Honors in Music Composition), he moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he studied composition privately with Argentine pianist and composer Gerardo Gandini.  In August 2007, Andrés completed a Master’s degree in Music Composition at Bowling Green State University.  While at Bowling Green, he studied with Burton Beerman, Marilyn Shrude, and Mikel Kuehn.

His music has been read of performed by the FLUX String Quartet, the Takacs String Quartet, the Fireworks Ensemble, the West Point Saxophone Quartet, the Salzedo Harp Duo, saxophonist Jeffrey Heisler, cellist Craig Hultgren, Spanish conductor Octavio MasArocas, Costa Rican percussionist Olman Piedra, and Panamanian pianist Tania Iglesias (winner of the bi-annual National Piano Competition).  His music is scheduled to be performed by eighth blackbird and the Portuguese Youth Symphonic Band.  He is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Music Composition at the University of Chicago, where he is studying with Marta Ptaszynska

Ronald Feldman, violincello
Ronald Feldman, cellist and conductor, is Artist in Residence in orchestral/instrumental music and coordinator of string chamber music here at Williams.  He joined the faculty of Williams College in September of 2001, ending a distinguished career with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. His many chamber music affiliations have included performance with the Boston Symphony Chamber Players, Collage New Music Ensemble, and the Boston Conservatory Chamber Players. He has performed with artists Emmanual Ax, Garrick Olsen, Gil Shaham, and Yo Yo Ma.  He is also on the faculties of  The Boston Conservatory, Berklee College of Music, and The New England Conservatory.

Elizabeth Wright, piano
Elizabeth Wright has performed extensively throughout the United States, Europe, the USSR and Japan. She has appeared in recital with many distinguished artists and was awarded the prize of Outstanding Accompanist at the Fourth International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow. Ms. Wright premiered and recorded many new works, performing in such groups as the American Composers Orchestra, the Aspen Contemporary Festival and Orpheus. She is principal pianist with the American Symphony Orchestra and was for many years piano soloist for both the Martha Graham Dance Company and the Paul Taylor Dance Company. She has been an artist-teacher for the Lincoln Center Institute and has served on the faculties of the Mannes College of Music, Bennington, and Princeton. Appearing frequently on PBS, Ms. Wright has recorded on the Gasparo, Opus One and CRI labels.
