The Williams College Student Symphony is a 50-member orchestra conducted and administered by students, with sponsorship by the Department. The Student Symphony performs three times per year--in December, February, and May--with approximately 10 rehearsals to prepare for each concert. Rehearsals take place once a week until approximately one month before the concert, when there may be two rehearsals per week.
Everyone who plays an instrument--especially string players--is encouraged to audition. Auditions are held in September at the same time as Berkshire Symphony auditions, and it is possible to audition for both symphonies. Those interested in the Student Symphony should prepare one technical piece and one lyrical piece.
Ronald Feldman is the Faculty Sponsor.
