I/O Festival of New Music – After Hours
Held each January in the ’62 Center for Theatre and Dance and directed by Matthew Gold, the annual I/O Festival of New Music immerses audiences in the full spectrum of today’s most vital compositional trends. Also featured is the student run IOTA, as well as students, faculty, and guests performing all manner of adventurous music in novel and unconventional settings. I/O invites audiences to open their ears and minds and experience the music of now.
I/O Fest 2016 features new and adventurous music by composers including Steve Reich, Lois Vierk, Oscar Bettison, Anthony Cheung, and Anna Thorvaldsdottir. In addition to the scheduled concerts I/O Fest will include events in and around the ’62 Center throughout the festival.
