The lunchtime music series on the Chapin stage, takes a different turn. Led by Professor Ed Gollin, a group of Williams students, faculty, and friends perform “In C,” by Terry Riley. The minimalist work is has performed regularly in the music department, and could be considered a tradition.

Heading up the project, Prof. Ed Gollin comments, “Besides being a really great piece of music, and great fun to perform, the communal nature of the work’s organization (a product greater than the sum of the individual performers making individual decisions) reminds us that music is a communal activity, and what better way to celebrate the end of year by coming together to make music.”
