Senior Thesis Recital
Scott Daniel ’17, violin

Scott Daniel ’17 is a senior double major in music and computer science and a native of Oak Park, IL. Since picking up the violin at age 4, he has performed in countless solo and ensemble contexts, including (most recently) as assistant concertmaster for the Berkshire Symphony, as electric violinist for the Chicago progressive-jazz quartet Jazz Robots, and in the band of Taylor Mac’s Pulitzer-nominated show A 24-Decade History of Popular Music. Scott will be spending the summer of 2017 at music festivals in Quebec and Vienna, after which he plans to study violin independently in Chicago while preparing to audition for master’s programs in violin performance.

For his Senior Thesis Recital he plays works of Ysaÿe, von Biber, Piazzolla, Ravel, as well as a work of his own, Cusp, together with Ben Mygatt ’20, violin;  Daniel Yu ’20 and Dawn Wu ’18, violas
