Student Jazz Recital

The Williams College Department of Music will present the Student Jazz Recital on Wednesday, Dec. 5, at 8 p.m. in Brooks-Rogers Recital Hall on the Williams College campus. This free event is open to the public.

This evening of music will highlight the musical styles of Blues, Bebop, Baiao, Samba, Afro-Cuban Jazz and the works of Charles Mingus, Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, Horace Silver, Chano Pozo, Luis Bonfa, Hermeto Pascual and others. Fifteen students from “Jazz Theory and Improvisation” and “Rhythm and Jazz in America, Brazil and Cuba” will be performing in the recital under the tutelage of Freddie Bryant, Visiting Lecturer in African Studies and Music.
