Senior RecitalElizabeth Schwartzman ’08, piano
The Williams Department of Music will present a senior piano recital featuring Elizabeth Schwartzman ‘08 playing works by composers J. S. Bach; L. van Beethoven; F. Chopin; P. I. Tchaikovsky; M. Balakirev; and S. Prokofiev.
Studying piano since the age of four, Schwartzman graduated from the Manhattan School of Music Preparatory Division under the instruction of Dr. Arkady Aronov and Irina Morozova. She is a top prizewinner of several competitions, including the World Piano Competition in Cincinatti, Ohio, the Vladimir Horowitz International Piano Competition in Kiev, Ukraine, and the Concourse Internacional de Piano “Nicolai Rubinstein,” in Paris, France. She has been invited to participate in a number of festivals in Spain, Russia, New York, and throughout Italy. Schwartzman currently studies music and mathematics at Williams College, studying piano under the instruction of Elizabeth Wright, Studio Instructor of Piano. In the future, Schwartzman hopes to pursue a masters degree in piano performance.
