The Williams College Department of Music  presents the Williams Student Symphony in concert on Saturday, Dec. 12, at 8 p.m. in Chapin Hall on the Williams College campus. This performance is free and open to the public.

The Williams Student Symphony presents excerpts from Antonin Dvorak’s cycle of pieces titled, “Legends,” op. 59, B.122. Also on offer is an piece for orchestra by Adrianus Valerius and arranged by Hans Kindler titled, “17th Century Dutch Tunes.” The orchestra further explores the work by Joe Hisaishi and arranged by Ben Kaufman with “A Town with an Ocean View” from “Kiki’s Delivery Service.” Hisaishi’s film score style of composition has gained a firm foothold in the musical vocabulary of Anime film.

The Williams Student Symphony is co-directed by Abigail Soloway ‘18, Jordan LaMothe ‘17, and Benjamin Kaufman ‘16. The symphony’s faculty advisor is Ronald Feldman.
