Williams Gospel Choir

The Williams College Department of Music presents the Williams Gospel Choir on Saturday, April 27 at 7 p.m. in Chapin Hall on the Williams campus. This free event is open to the public.

The Williams Gospel Choir’s first concert in Chapin Hall as an sponsored group of the music department is titled Order My Steps. Joining the Gospel Choir are the Allegrettos of the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.

The Gospel Choir has been performing at Williams for over 25 years, and has just returned from a spring break tour in the San Francisco bay area. On their ten day trip the thirty member choir toured local churches, met with Williams alumni, worked with local schools (elementary, middle, high school, and Stanford University), and participating in a variety of community service events. The Gospel Choir is co-directed this year by Gabriel Cervantes ‘13 and Marcela Osorio ‘15 and is advised by Sterling Brown ‘22 Distinguished Visiting Artist in Residence in Music Avery Sharpe, who is affiliated with both the department of music and Africana Studies.
