Benjamin Ory is Visiting Assistant Professor in Musicology for the fall at Williams College. In 2022 he received his Ph.D. in musicology from Stanford University. His dissertation, which was supported by a DAAD Research Grant, examines the origins of mid sixteenth-century musical style and its twentieth-century reception under National Socialism in Germany and during the post-war period. Ben’s historiographical research was recognized by the 2021 AMS NorCal Award in Musicology. He is currently editing a volume of motets for the Adrian Willaert collected-works edition with the American Institute of Musicology. Ben holds an A.B. in music from Harvard University.
